Dear Colleagues,

At the recent Confederation conference (“I am large: I contain multitudes”) it was suggested that opportunity might be provided for further exploration of our diverse understanding of some of the themes arising in the conference. Accordingly, the ACPP Board resolved to offer an online, open forum opportunity on Tuesday 29 October 2024 from 7.30 – 9.00pm (Australian Eastern Summer Time). Participants at the conference are invited to join this online event. Some members may not have been in a position to attend the conference and this online discussion may be of interest to you. All members of Confederation member associations are welcome.

The forum will provide an opportunity for further consideration of themes which arose at the conference. One suggestion was that we explore further our differing understandings of the development of a sense of “I” or self, and the differentiation from “us” and “them”. How do we understand the implications of insufficient differentiation between “I”, “us” and “them”? What might be the implications of excessive differentiation between “I”, “us” and “them”? Participants may also wish to explore other themes which arose at the conference.

This event will not involve a presentation but simply offers a forum for exploration and exchange of ideas, to learn from each other and perhaps to be enriched by the diversity of approaches embodied by the Confederation.
